The Holy Mass

The Mass is the central act of worship in the Catholic Church, where we gather as a community to celebrate the Eucharist - the Body and Blood of Christ. At Our Lady of the Angels, we celebrate Mass with reverence, joy, and hospitality.

Mass Schedule

Sunday Masses:

  • 9:00 AM - Morning Mass
  • 11:00 AM - Family Mass

Weekday Masses:

  • Monday - Friday: 9:30 AM
  • Saturday: 6:00 PM (Vigil Mass)

Mass Intentions

You may request that Mass be offered for a special intention, such as for the deceased, for healing, or in thanksgiving.

Our parish life follows the rhythm of the Church's liturgical year, inviting us to walk with Christ through the mysteries of his life, death, and resurrection.

Advent & Christmas

  • Advent: Four weeks of preparation before Christmas
  • Christmas: Celebrating the Nativity of the Lord (Dec 25)
  • Holy Family: Sunday after Christmas
  • Epiphany: Commemorating the visit of the Magi
  • Baptism of the Lord: Concludes the Christmas season

Lent & Easter

  • Ash Wednesday: Beginning of Lent (Day of Fasting)
  • Holy Week: Palm Sunday to Holy Saturday
  • Easter Triduum: Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil
  • Easter Sunday: The Resurrection of the Lord
  • Pentecost: 50 days after Easter, coming of the Holy Spirit

Ordinary Time & Feasts

  • Ordinary Time: Walking with Jesus in his public ministry
  • Corpus Christi: The Body and Blood of Christ
  • Ss Peter & Paul: June 29th
  • Assumption of Mary: August 15th
  • All Saints: November 1st (Holy Day of Obligation)
  • All Souls: November 2nd
  • Christ the King: Final Sunday of the liturgical year

The Seven Sacraments

The sacraments are outward signs of God's grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church. Through these sacred rituals, we receive God's grace and are strengthened in our faith journey.

Sacraments of Initiation

Baptism

The first sacrament, which welcomes new members into the Catholic Church and cleanses from original sin.

Preparation: Baptism preparation classes for parents and godparents

Schedule: Usually celebrated during Sunday Mass or by appointment

Requirements: Contact the parish office at least one month in advance

Confirmation

The sacrament that completes baptismal grace and strengthens us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Age: Typically received in teenage years (14-16)

Preparation: Two-year preparation program

Requirements: Must be baptized and have received First Communion

First Holy Communion

The first reception of the Eucharist, usually received around age 7-8.

Preparation: Two-year religious education program

Celebration: Special Mass in late spring

Requirements: Must be baptized and have reached the age of reason

Sacraments of Healing

Reconciliation (Confession)

The sacrament of God's forgiveness and mercy, where sins are absolved through the ministry of the priest.

Schedule: Saturdays after 9:30 AM Mass

Also Available: By appointment

Preparation: Examination of conscience and sincere contrition

Anointing of the Sick

The sacrament for those who are seriously ill, elderly, or facing surgery, providing spiritual strength and sometimes physical healing.

Who: Anyone facing serious illness or surgery

When: Contact the parish office immediately

Where: Hospital, home, or church

Sacraments of Service

Holy Orders

The sacrament by which men are ordained as deacons, priests, or bishops to serve the Church.

Discernment: Speak with our priest about a possible calling

Formation: Seminary training and spiritual formation

Support: Our parish supports vocations to the priesthood

Matrimony (Marriage)

The sacrament that unites a man and woman in a lifelong covenant of love, mirroring Christ's love for the Church.

Preparation: Marriage preparation course required

Planning: Contact the parish at least 6 months in advance

Requirements: Both parties must be free to marry in the Catholic Church
